SERVINGS 12 Sausages

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef 80/20
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp beef bone broth or water
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

Instructions

  • Combine the beef, seasoning, broth and baking soda in a medium bowl. Use your hands to mix the ingredients, being careful not to over-mix which can make the sausage dense once cooked. Set aside for 20 minutes to allow the flavours to come together.
1 lb lean ground beef, 1 tsp dried sage, 1/2 tsp dried thyme, 1 tsp sweet paprika, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, 3/4 tsp sea salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 3 tbsp beef bone broth, 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • Divide the mixture into 12 balls and then flatten into patties, about 2 1/2-3" wide. Use your thumb to make a shallow hole in the top of the each patty.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Working in batches if needed, add the patties and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel.
    1 tbsp avocado oil
  • Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
